Belated~ Birthdays and Updates!!!!

It sucks to start out these posts with an apology, but alas, I apologize for those of you who stay mostly updated via this blog.  I guess I live in a world of "no news is good news", but I know to some "no news" just makes you worry!

Julie and Jeff celebrated birthdays earlier in the month!  We had a big Mexican menu at Mimi's (Megan's) house!  The food was heavenly!  All the kids were there, and that is Jeff's Julie's favorite!  They ran in circles around the house.  Tried to scare the little ones with a crazy monkey mask, and some slathering of Mimi's lip gloss happened in her bathroom!  Nobody puts on lipstick like Evy Jane Frogley!

Jeff and Julie stayed as long as they could before our crazy partying was too much for their old bones!

(Sure Julie, blame it on the chemo)

Julie decided to change her Oncologist.  It was not a decision she made lightly either.  She wanted to find someone who she felt was a better fit with her approach to healing.  We appreciate all
Dr. Zuckerman did for Julie!
She is now seeing Dr. Christian Alluri.  She, Megan and Zack met with him earlier this week.  They really liked him, and his nurse.

Julie received some comforting news.  The cancer in her colon, and liver have shrunk since getting chemo.  That is wonderful news, but please do not think it's a cure.  If anything this has blessed Julie with more time, and that, is what we ask for more than anything.

Her spirits are up, she played board games with Mason on her birthday, Santa brought her an Ipad (early),  she's been going to Caitlin's basketball games, she was able to take her nephew Burke (my youngest) on a date to the Boise Library on his 3rd birthday,  AND SHE VOTED!!!  The last one is just plain crazy if you ask me!!!

Thank you for your continued support for Julie, Jeff and their children.  We are looking forward to the holidays with them.  And many more after that!

Send Julie a note!  Please!  She loves them!

Gauby Family 10/14/12

Friends!  This Friday, October 19, is an opportunity for you to Rise and Shine for Julie!  Some very dear friends have put together a silent auction at The Lift Bar + Grill 4019 W. State Street, Boise, Idaho 83703 from 6:00-9:00 pm.  Anita, Leslie, Erica, and Jen have been working on this event for months.  In addition to the silent auction, there will be an ongoing raffle with awesome prizes up for grabs all evening long.  Kegs have been graciously donated and all beer sales will go directly to Julie.  Yeah!  Drink for a cause!  :)  There will also be a Rise and Shine cocktail available, with partial proceeds going to the cause.  There are too many auction items to list, but I assure you these lovely ladies have worked their tails off to ensure there's a little something for everyone.  Photo sessions, rounds of golf, beer tabs, dental exams, catered dinner for 6, floral arrangements, winterizing landscape treatments, preschool tuition, and custom home interiors just to name a few.  Sounds pretty amazing, right?  We hope to see you on Friday!

From Julie~

Tomorrow I'm having out patient surgery. It has nothing to do with the cancer. It will address my on going female problems. The procedure is called Novasure for all of my detail oriented friends. It is normally done at the Drs. office but given my risk factors we've opted for a hospital setting. I'm calling on all of my fellow fb "Prayer Warriors" to do your thing in hopes of getting through this with no complications and a quick recovery!!!! Love you all, thanks for the AWESOME support we're getting from all of you!!!!!

Julie :)

In a valiant effort to raise money in support of Julie and the kids I am having a multi-vendor fundraiser at my home this Saturday the 6th of October.

Scentsy, Paparazzi, Thirty One, doTERRA, Crazy Lady Cupcakes

All of my sweet friends are donating their commissions to Julie.  As of right now we are almost at $500.
My goal is one thousand by end of day Saturday!  The only way we can do this is with YOUR help!

Find the event on FaceBook for all additional information!

Race to the Summit & Homecoming

Today was a BUSY day for our family!

September, Megan, Jennifer, and some of their dedicated friends Raced to the Summit in honor of Julie!  Between the three of them, they were able to raise over $1,600 for her!  That is amazing!  What a blessing!  I am so proud of my sisters!  It was a beautiful sight to see today.  I am thankful I was given the job of photographer.  It is much easier to hide the tears of overwhelming love behind my lens.  Here is a post of pictures that I took.  I think they will speak volumes on the love we have for another.  And the support we are gathering for Julie!

I love this picture of Jennifer and her friend Trish!  Jennifer was beaming as she crossed the finish line!

September's life long friend Lindsey Niederklein (Tonkin) running for Julie!

Here comes Megan and Jenny!

Here is the part where I was almost bawling behind my camera.  September ran the half marathon.  She kicked into high gear and crushed that finish line.  It was very overwhelming to watch.  We are so proud of you SJ!!!

The kick a$$ fundraisers!!!

The Smith Girls Uniting!

I also had the pleasure of taking Caitlin's SR homecoming pictures!  We met at Mt. View park with her lovely friends and took some pictures.  How these STUNNING girls did not have dates is beyond me.  But I think they were looking forward to porking down food at Old Chicago!

On behalf of Julie, I will thank all of you who continue to show support to her.  I know that she is aware of sacrifices others are making on her behalf.  They are not thankless.  The donations, the gift cards, the money for hats......THANK YOU!
